Instructor Step-by-Step Guide
Attaching documents, PDF, audio/video files or direct YouTube links You have two ways to upload lesson materials. One being through the course page and the other being through the schedule page. Let’s first discuss uploading lesson materials through the course page: 1. Login to theOmnisApp 2. Select the red book icon to visit your courses 3. Select the file folder next to the course you’re wanting to attach a file to 4. Select the document or audio/video upload type 5. Give the attachment a title 6. Select [Attach file] 7. Choose the file you want to upload 8. Select [Save File] when done ***We recommend uploading larger videos through YouTube and embedding the link into your course uploads.*** To upload content directly from the scheduling view, please follow the below steps. We’ve implemented this option to make it easy to mark attendance and upload lesson materials all in one sitting. Here how to do that: 1. Visit the schedule page (orange calendar icon) 2. Locate the session you’re trying to upload content to 3. Select the file folder next to given session to upload content 4. Select the document or audio/video upload type 5. Give the attachment a title 6. Select [Attach file] 7. Choose the file you want to upload 8. Select [Save File] when done Uploading YouTube Videos (Private/Safety Mode) While you can simply copy and paste a YouTube link directly from a video’s URL, we’ve found that this way has some inconsistencies and bugs within our system. With that being said, I recommend the following method: 1. Visit YouTube and find the video you’re wanting to embed 2. Select [SHARE] underneath the video 3. Select the following embed options:
✓ Show player controls .
✓ Enable privacy-enhanced mode 4. Copy the link between “https://…=0” Make sure to copy the URL only and the apostrophes 5. Login to OMNIS 6. Select the red book icon and visit your courses 7. Select the file folder next to the course you’re wanting to embed the video to 8. Select the YouTube uploader option 9. Paste the link in the video 10. Give the attachment a title 11. Select [Save File] when done If you’re still having trouble or needing immediate assistance, please don’t hesitate to send a message to us at firstname.lastname@example.org .
